Room 1:
Maya Jane Coles
2011 has certainly been the year Maya Jane Coles announced herself as one of the most talented up and coming artists in electronic music. Maya’s productions take’s influence from a diverse range of musical styles and British – Japanese heritage. Her talents are by no means confided to realms of house and techno. Under the guise of her live dub/electronica outfit, ‘She Is Danger (alongside the multi-instrumentalist/singer Lena Cullen) she has remixed the likes of Massive Attack and Gorillaz.
Eats Everything
Few producers of recent years have exploded onto the underground house scene like Elastic’s most recent signing ‘Eats Everything’ aka Bristolian Daniel Pearce. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Dan made a clear statement of intent with ‘Entrance Song’ his debut release on Catz N Dogz ‘Pets Recordings’ label that peaked at number 15 in Beatport’s all-genre house chart. Part of a new wave of talented producers coming out of the West Country’s Bass Central.
Youandewan
Youandewan’s productions have earned him much acclaim in the music industry and in a very short space of time. 2009 saw him release tracks on MAGiCBAG Music, Landed Productions, Aenaria Recordings, Moma Recordings and Minimal People. With his records being played out by the likes of Steve Bug and Nick Warren, Youandewan is one to watch in 2011.
Mike Jones
MIKE JONES on the I-Trols! Rhythm merchant and all round Bass fiend, Mike blends the most upfront underground dance music with Techno sensibilities. Dubstep, UK Funky, Techno, D&B and beyond its all in the crate! Hard Hat beats for a Hi-Vis generation.
Room 2:
Stopmakingme
It’s fair to say a restless urge for creativity has punctuated everything Daniel Avery has done to date. Having grown up on and been influenced by the risk taking DJ sets of Weatherall, Erol, Ivan Smagghe, Ewan Pearson and Optimo, his own DJing style sees house and techno thrown alongside cosmic drones, post-punk angles and mutant new wave whilst no momentum - or any floor - is lost. It was this d...rive that prompted Fabric to quickly pick him up as a resident (where he still remains), calls to entertain the masses at Bugged Out and Durrr on a regular basis and for the aforementioned Alkan.
People Get Real
Internationally hailed by artists at the top of their game, Wax:On residents, People get Real's perfectly pitched style has led them to DJ alongside some of the world's biggest and best; Sven vath, Erol Alkan, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, Ame, Craig Richards, Ivan Smagghe and Andrew Weatherall to name just a few.
Eskimo Twins
Since meeting at university in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. After graduating, the pair immersed themselves in the city's clubbing and live music scene and began to make music together. After agreeing on their mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid, Electro, and their lingering teenage love of Metal; the Twins busied themselves with tweaking and crafting a dark electronic sound, inter-mangled with their penchant for twisted pop sensibilities.
