Kieran Hebden, known to most of us as Four Tet is blessed with a musical gift some of us could only aspire to possess. Over the last 15 years he has graced us with an array of albums spanning from "Dialogue" back in 1999, his latest studio recording "There is Love in You", onto his milestone work with legendary jazz drummer Steve Reid and finally his most recent FabricLive mix which became a staple LP in the record collections of bass music lovers nationwide. This isn’t to mention his various collaborations with artists such as Radiohead front man Thom Yorke and Burial, the artist who puts out music seldom enough that when it happens, the whole world stops and takes note. This is also true of Four Tet, and anyone who's seen him play out will affirm how he successfully manages to encapsulate his audience like no other, with his ability to read a crowd beyond exceptional.

Holding up the headliner are two artists who more than make a steady foundation for the evenings proceedings. First up we have James Holden, an artist whose sets not only draw from deep within his record collection, but also utilizes tracks from the new generation of electronic artists. Not only is the diversity of his selections one to be admired, but his seamless ability to layer these together in a manner in which the age of the tracks is seemingly unnoticeable is something most extraordinary. All of this coupled with the true rarity that are his DJ sets, Border Community boss Holden is set to bring another and very welcomed dimension to the evening.

Finally we have for you one of this said "new generation" of fine producers joining the aforementioned artists. Playing nothing more and nothing less than "Galactic Funk" - Space Dimension Controller has made waves across the scene since the release of The Love Quadrant EP and continues to do so with each release, most recently The Pathway to Tiraquon6 on R & S Records.

Alongside all of this we have Room 2 hosted by Wax:On residents People Get Real for a “Join Our Club” label showcase. With their mission statement being “releasing great music, that we believe in, from passionate dedicated artists, who understand what makes a dancefloor tick. So if you are a likeminded soul, why not Join Our Club?”. This certainly does it for us. Finally we have Butter Side Up commanding things in Room 3, relative newbies on the Leeds scene these guys have brought to us innovative bookings from day 1 and will be flaunting all things electronica in the outside room.

Quite the line up for quite a night.

Room 1: Room 1

Four Tet

Four Tet

Four Tet is the electronic outlet for the solo work of Keiran Hebden. Hebden’s solo work typically utilises samples lifted from various sources including hip-hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk mixed with his own guitar playing. Hebden’s music is notable for its rich, organic sounds and harmonious melodies as well as for eschewing the traditional pop-song format in favour of a more abstract approach.

James Holden

James Holden

The producer James Holden's journey to this point began back in 1999, aged just 19, when he burst onto the UK scene with the exuberant teenage trance hit 'Horizons'. The launch of his own Border Community label in 2003, kicked off in fine style with his own future anthem 'A Break in the Clouds', when key players in the hugely influential German scene began to sit up and take notice.

Space Dimension Controller

Space Dimension Controller

Space Dimension Controller aka Jack Hamill, creates soulful and futuristic dance floor friendly sounds that takes in techno and house whilst joining the dots of everything in between. Having come seemingly out of nowhere, to become one of the latest leaders in the global electronic music scene at the ripe old age of 21, this rising star has already got some serious acclaims attached to his musical career so far.

Youandewan

Youandewan

“I’m shy, nervous and anxious about life,” says Youandewan. You can tell that by his music, be it the doleful, dubby remixes of Maya Jane Coles, Gerry Read or Sei A he’s turned in, or the garage-tinged originals he has crafted for Skream’s Disfigured Dubs and London’s non-specific bass hub, 2nd Drop. Of course, there’s also the notable “1988” (the first thing he ever produced and which was never intended to see the light of day) and a remix of Dusky’s “Lost in You” which regularly gets spun in the dusty dungeons of Berlin’s Berghain. But none of these really sum-up the reticent Leeds lad, for his loosely house and bass leaning sound is forever on the move. As a DJ, Youandewan’s cultured and considered sets have earned him a residency at Leeds night System, whilst he’s also a regular guest at Wax: On and headlines intimate parties across the UK and Europe on a regular basis. Though he prefers hiding to over-hyping, for those who know, they know…

Room 2: Join Our Club

People Get Real

People Get Real

Since 2002 Simon Lister and Peter Wilson aka People Get Real have been consistently and thoroughly bringing their brand of dance-floor terrorism to parties in their native Newcastle, across the UK and beyond. 2011 also saw them launch their own “Join Our Club” imprint, which has seen them release not only their own productions but also from It’s a Fine Line, Tom Ellis, Eskimo Twins and more.

The Countach

The Countach

A mysterious Mancunian from the mountains of Manchester and supplier of exquisite beats at his very own Jupiter Rooms parties in London and Manchester. Anyone who as stumbled across one of these events will profess that this man clan has an impeccable musical pedigree. Driven by his love of techno, italo and leftfield disco and inspired by the likes of Michael Mayer, Magda and Ivan Smagghe, The Countach strives to make records that have that little something extra.

Audibilis

Audibilis

Audibilis is the alter ego of a Leeds based front man of our favorite electronic-heavy-melodic-progressive-rock-psychedelic-punk-stoner band Fallen Colossus. It is hard not to be impressed by his borderline obsessive love of music coupled with his experimental flair when creating it. It is this quality that inspired People Get Real to adopt Audibilis under their latest musical venture and label – Join Our Club. And so the adventure begins.

Room 3: Butter Side Up

Butter Side Up

Butter Side Up

A buttery mix of all things deep house, electronica, hip hop, broken beat, funk, soul, disco and everything in between. Butter Side Up brings you the widest spectrum of different artists and offer an unparalleled atmosphere. Having started as an intimate party playing in bars and have quickly worked their way up into the club scene, the Butter Side Up gang have now put on continuous parties over the past few years and they have continued to grow in quality and reputation. Currently hosting for some of the biggest electronic music events in Leeds, they can also be found at their monthly night at the infamous Wire club, fit with full funktion one sound
