Wax:On News | Maya Jane Coles Nominated for 3 Awards at Miami Music Conference |
Maya Jane Coles has received three nominations for the 27th edition of the International Dance Music Awards at the forthcoming Miami Winter Music Conference.
Maya’s dazzling ‘What They Say’ has been put forward as one of five potential records to receive the award for best house / garage / deep house track of the last twelve months, battling it out against the likes of Oliver $, Noir & Haze, and Maceo Plex, who will also be playing at Hideout Festival this summer.
Maya has also received further nominations for ‘Best breakthrough DJ’ and ‘Best breakthrough artist - (solo)’. After scooping similar awards last year with Resident Advisor, DJ Mag and at the Ibiza DJ Awards, you’d be a fool to bet against her walking away from the US with another suitcase full of trophies.
News of these nominations follow on from a phenomenal start to 2012 from the London-born house DJ & producer, during which time Maya has already received accolades from both Mixmag and Time Out Magazine as ‘Breakthrough DJ of the Year’ and ‘Top DJ to watch in 2012’ respectively.
You can vote online for Maya Jane Coles until March 01 at www.wintermusicconference.com
Coming up this year from Maya is the eagerly awaited release of her debut album – an album that the house/bass/ garage producer wants “even people who hate dance music to like!” As well as keeping busy in the studio, Maya is already booked in to DJ at over 20 different countries within the first six months of 2012.
You can catch her making an appearance at Hideout Festival at the end of June this year.
